MAKING A HOME A HOME
We offer person centred, holistic supports to empower people to live full and meaningful lives in their own homes. We focus on each person’s emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well-being. People have access to a
wide range of supports based on their unique interests, needs and goals.
Advocacy and supports are provided for people to:
- Move to their own homes in the community. Individuals and their families are supported throughout the transition process.
- Choose the type of home (i.e. house/apartment) and neighbourhood to live in.
- Carefully select who they want to live with.
- Determine and meet any accessibility needs.
- Personalize homes with attention to individual decorating preferences.
- Experience warmth, security and safety.
- Create a welcoming space where family and friends are encouraged to visit and socialize.
- Self-direct supports according to individual needs and abilities.
- Live as independently as possible.
SELF DEVELOPMENT AND LIFE LONG LEARNING
People are supported to:
- Choose and pursue personal interests, goals and dreams.
- Focus on reciprocal relationships between friends, neighbours and community members.
- Develop daily living skills (i.e. cooking, cleaning, paying bills, shopping, budgeting).
- Participate in and contribute to neighbourhood initiatives and events.
- Access adaptive resources and therapeutic services.
- Participate in Self Development Workshops

CONNECTING AND CONTRIBUTING IN THE COMMUNITY
We provide supports that empower people to:
- Participate in and contribute to community events and social occasions.
- Pursue membership and volunteer with local organizations or initiatives of personal interest.
- Develop personal networks and connections with other community members.
